I am a Member of Technical Staff at Thinking Machines Lab, and a Member of Less Technical Stuff at ACL Mentorship. I did my Ph.D. at University of Michigan, advised by Joyce Chai.
I am interested in (i) predictive evaluation of scalable learning systems; (ii) continual learning with minimal supervision, no verifiable reward, and learning and inference with no turn-taking or train-test boundary; and (iii) multimodal learning from natural cross-modal correspondence.
I’ve gone by “marstin” across much of my internet presence for years. It began as a typo of “Martian”; people started calling me “Mars-tin,” and the name stuck.
